Wiese Family Wines are a local wine producer in the Alexandra basin, Central Otago. Established in 2023, our aspiration is to express the wines of our region in a different way via our pet-nat range, but also by keeping it traditional (with a little twist) in our still wines, incorporating all the quality and versatility the sub-region has to offer.

Wiese Family Wines was born from a shared passion for winemaking and a desire to express the character of Central Otago in a fresh, honest way. Through our label, we craft Méthode Ancestrale sparkling wines with playful energy and still wines with a traditional backbone and a twist. Hailing from South Africa and Argentina, we met during the 2019 Sonoma harvest and followed the grapes to New Zealand. When the pandemic paused our journey, Alexandra captured our hearts—and the wines inspired us to stay. What began as a detour became home, and a place to create wines with soul and story.
